
Some 20 global health organizations, universities and technology company IBM are planning to team up and find out how computer system can help in responding about infectious diseases. This is reason that an open-source initiative working against pandemic.
As a member of Global Pandemic Initiative, IBM announced that it would contribute software technologies to the open-source technology.
Some of the software will allow electronic health information outbreaks how disease could spread and other will predict how viruses could mutate.
Larry Brilliant, The head of philanthropy at Google, told about his vision how information technology could be used to fight pandemics.
IBM is teaming with several health centers, including University of Pittsburgh to develop text-mining technologies about treatment of patients.
